Red Rivers

Choreographer Willie Stark presents the new dance production “Red Rivers” for the first time at the LWL Museum of Art and Culture in Münster. The performance is taking place as part of the Landschaftsverband Westfalen-Lippe (LWL) theme year on post-colonial Westphalia-Lippe. In the work, Willie Stark explores the themes of identity, post-colonial narratives and social power structures. In “Red Rivers”, modern dance is combined with symbolism and emotional intensity. In the performance, the performers embodies the physical and emotional aspects of conflict, identity and resistance.

“Red Rivers” is a performance by choreographers and dancers Willie Stark and Yasmine Calasse of the ‘Stark Dance Company’. The work combines dance, performance, art and socio-political themes. It is characterised by an intensive examination of questions of culture, power and belonging and often deal with historical and contemporary forms of injustice.
